{Haeusler_Portrait_image_copy.jpg} M. Hank Haeusler is a trained electrician and studied architecture at Tokyo Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan and at the Technical University in Delft, The Netherlands and at The University of Applied Science in Stuttgart where he received a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture in October 2003. Hank has worked in architect's offices in Germany, the United States and Australia, and finished his PhD at SIAL (Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory)/RMIT University, Melbourne under the supervision of Professor Mark Burry in October 2007. His research focused on the design of a Spatial Dynamic Media System, a voxel facade for an interactive spatial communication through a 3D light-point grid to design content driven dynamic surfaces in real-time. He has taught various courses at RMIT University School of Architecture and Design and has been a guest lecturer at several universities, such as ETH Zurich, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Copenhagen, amongst others, and presented papers and given lectures at CAAD and media architecture conferences. Since March 2008 Hank has been a lecturer at the University of Applied Science in Stuttgart, Germany and PhD secondary supervisor at RCA Royal Collage of Arts, London / IED Industrial Engineering Design. From October 2008 his main research focus will be on his work as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Technology Sydney where he continues his research in media and architecture.
